Conferencing has brought about a dramatic change in corporate communications.
Organizations used to spend huge amount of their budgets in setting up good infrastructure for facilitating smooth communication.
And also the modes of communication that was used were very time consuming and had a longer turn around time.
Well yes with the improvement in technology, highly sophisticated modes of communication like email came into existence and made life easier, it is fast, cost effective and simple. But all technologies have their flip side, so does email. It does not have a personal touch, meaning it is not live. It is ok to convey a message but cannot be used for interactive communication. Yes I know, the first thing that will strike to one, as soon as I say interactive communication is Telephone, but it is for one to one communication and not for mass communication. Then a cost effective mode of communication when it is ‘one to many’ or ‘many to many’ would be Audio Conferencing.
It is as simple as talking over the phone, or making a telephone call.
It is interactive.
It is lively.
It is cheap compared to travelling.
It has a lot controls like mute, lecture mode, recording, question answer session, personalized greetings, Security options, etc
It is environment friendly as it cuts travelling (saves fuel and avoids pollution)
It saves time.
It reduces the stress and fatigue involved in travelling.
It is quick and available as and when required.
It is a very professional way of communicating.
Wow it sounds like it has only advantages, well I’m a regular user of conferencing facility, I’m overwhelmed by its benefits, I think Corporates should start using it in a large scale and make complete use of it.
